Dear Lietz Community,
It is with great excitement that I write this letter of introduction to you as the new Principal of Lietz Elementary School. I am honored to have the opportunity to join this extraordinary school and partner with such persevering students, an extremely dedicated staff, and a supportive school community. I believe that every child can succeed and that the partnership between home and school is key to ensuring our students' success.
I have been dedicated to the field of education for more than twenty-one years. As an educator, equipping all students and providing a safe space for everyone to have access and opportunity has been the hallmark of my career. I have worked with students ranging in age from Kindergarten through 8th grade in a variety of roles. I have been a special education and regular education teacher, an ELD teacher, a K-8 Instructional Coach and, most recently, I have served as the Assistant Principal at Dartmouth Middle School. In all of these roles, I believe that we as a community are always better together! I am thrilled to bring my skills and experience to the Lietz Elementary School community.
On a personal note, I have lived in the San Jose area for over 20 years. I have an amazing family and spend time with my niece and nephew whenever possible. I am incredibly grateful for video chats so we can keep in touch. I am a graduate of Bethany College and Santa Clara University, Go Broncos! I am proud to be part of the Union School District and this community since 2018, and I look forward to learning more about you and your family as we come together to support our students.
My goal is to continue the tradition of excellence and community involvement here at Lietz Elementary School. I am committed to always exploring ways to meet the needs of all students and to more effectively communicate with parents and community members. I will be meeting with parents, students, and staff throughout the next month and look forward to opportunities to connect with each of you and hear your story and the story of all the amazing things that are happening at Lietz. Mrs. Lopez and I are working hard to make for a smooth transition.
To our students, I cannot wait to meet you all! It is going to be a fun year learning together. Please come and introduce yourselves to me when you see me on campus.
In closing, please know that my door is always open. I welcome your conversation and positive input throughout this year. I look forward to connecting and meeting with you, through digital and in person means, as we are able. I will send out a time where a principal chat will be set up as a way to get to know each other. There are so many ways for us to come together for our students, and I am excited to begin. My first day at Lietz will be on Tuesday, January 18th. I look forward to hearing the stories of what we accomplish throughout the 2021-2022 school year.
