Home and School Club Meeting (Wed, Sep 8, 6:00PM)

This month we'll have a "Meet, Greet, and Eat" at 6:00PM, before the usual meeting. This is a potluck event, so please bring an appetizer or dessert to share (finger foods only).

Family Picnic/Movie (Fri, Sep 10)

In addition to the usual back-to-school activities this week, we'll be showing a free family-friendly movie out on the grass around 6:30, so bring some chairs, a blanket, your dinner... Snacks and drinks will be offered for sale.

Fall Pictures (Thu, Sep 16)

Fall pictures will be taken on Thursday, Sep. 16. Make sure your kids wear a smile that day! No up-front payment is required - a proof will be sent home for you to view and you can then place your order.

Boxtops For Education

Go to the bonus offers and win money for the school!

Label your box tops with three items:

Student's first and last name
Teacher's name
Room number.

Campbell's Labels for Education

Save UPC codes from Campbell's soup cans, Goldfish crackers, Pepperidge Farm cookies and crackers and other products and send them to Lietz. We will redeem the UPC codes for school supplies from Campbell's. Click here for a full list of eligible products.

HSC Newsletter

We have a lot of exciting events planned for the year but we need your help! Please come to the first HSC meeting in the Staff Lounge at 6pm on Wed. Sept. 8th. We are having a social hour for parents to meet at 6pm and then the meeting will start promptly at 7pm. We need Chairpeople for the following events: After School Movies, E-scrip, Campbell's Soup Labels, Spring Festival, Grandparent's Day, and Candy sales. And we need lots of volunteers for all of our events. Come out and find out how you can help!

Lucky's shoppers: Come by the Scrip table and pick up a points card to earn points for our school! The card is free, just swipe it when you shop and our school will get points! The card is also good at Food Max.

Don't forget to shop with Scrip gift cards all year round! We offer gift cards from over 70 merchants, many from places you shop at everyday! Visit us at the Scrip table in front of the cafeteria on Wed. and Friday's before and after school or place/pick-up an order in the office.

Updates

Safety Alert!

We want all of our students and families to be safe during pick-up and drop-off in the morning and afternoon. It is important that we obey all traffic laws at these times.

You may have noticed we have students out doing Safety Patrol to help regulate the traffic flow and provide safe areas for students to cross the street. Please come to a complete stop when the signs are up.

We are requesting a few things if you are dropping off or picking up students:

Use the drop off circle through the parking lot.
The turnout by Room 16 and the portables is blocked off with cones to allow for bus drop off only. Please do not stop your car and block that area.
Everyone should cross in a crosswalk, including parents. Please help us set a good example for our students.
Please do not stop in the middle of the street, pull into neighbors driveways, or make illegal U-turns as this causes both traffic and safety problems.

Let's work together to make the streets around our school safe. Thank you for your cooperation.

Welcome Back!

Welcome to all of our new and returning students. Lietz is a great school and a great place to learn. We are excited to see everyone and we know that this year will be a success. Please join me in welcoming a handful of new staff members this year. Joining our team is Mrs. Foos at 3rd grade, Mrs. DeLorenzo at 3rd grade, Mrs. Chen at 1st grade, and Ms. Miller at our Upper Grade SDC class. We are so excited to be able to have these great additions to our teaching staff.
